Chile Pepper Jack-O'Lanterns – Carving Chiles for Halloween

This Halloween my friends and I attempted an experiment– carving hot peppers into tiny jack-o'lanterns. Whether it would work and how they would turn out was a mystery. Our kitchen had a Day of the Dead theme this year, so this seemed like a fitting decoration to include, along with the brightly colored strings of skeletons, candles, stringed flowers, and a chupacabra trying to escape a boarded closet.

HSF Reviews– Skipper's Treat: Sweet Jalapeño and Crazy Bastard:Tomatillo & Habanero

It's always exciting to try out some new hot sauces. We received two new bottles to taste, and will elaborate upon our reactions. The first is a sweet jalapeno sauce by Skipper's treat. The second, by Crazy Bastard Sauces, uses habanero and tomatillo. Since matters of taste are quite subjective, there will be a second opinion on each sauce this time around.

Hell Flakes by Todd Wilbur’s Top Secret Recipes, is a blend of five types of dried chile peppers, for use as a condiment to spice up your bland food, or in your cooking. The peppers in the blend vary in heat from bell pepper, to habanero. Yes, there's definitely habanero; This is some pretty hot stuff, and I’m impressed with this product.

Review of Tabanero Hot Sauce Picante: A Solid Sauce, Subtle Agave Flavor

This Tabanero brand of hot sauce really has its act together. When I first received the bottles to review, I had the mistaken impression that this was some offshoot of the Tabasco brand. Their labeling, packaging, and website are realy professional. Rather, they are a company based out of Boca Raton, Florida. The name is a catchy combination of Tabasco, and habanero. This sauce uses all natural ingredients, and habaneros from Tabasco, Mexico.
